Understanding Chiropractic Techniques: A Guide for New Patients
If you're someone who craves a healthy, pain-free lifestyle, you're in the right place. At Murrieta Chiropractic, we believe that everyone deserves to live their best life, free from discomfort and limitations. That's why we're here to guide you through the wonderful world of chiropractic care and help you understand the techniques that can bring you closer to optimal health.
Chiropractic care is not just about cracking backs and relieving pain. It is a comprehensive approach to wellness that focuses on the musculoskeletal system, particularly the spine. By using manual adjustments, chiropractors aim to restore alignment and functionality to your joints and spine, improving your overall well-being.
So, how exactly does chiropractic care work? Let's explore some of the common techniques employed by our skilled chiropractors:
1. Spinal Adjustment:
This is the cornerstone of chiropractic care. Through precise manual adjustment, chiropractors apply gentle force to areas of your spine that are misaligned or restricted. By doing so, they release tension, restore mobility, and promote the body's natural healing abilities.
2. Mobilization:
Similar to spinal adjustments, mobilization techniques involve gentle movements that aim to improve joint function and reduce pain. Chiropractors use various methods, such as stretching, pressure, and sustained holds, to restore proper movement and alleviate discomfort.
3. Soft Tissue Work:
Chiropractic care extends beyond just the spine. Practitioners also focus on the soft tissues, such as muscles, ligaments, and tendons. Techniques like massage, myofascial release, and trigger point therapy are used to relax muscles, reduce inflammation, and restore flexibility.
4. Rehabilitation Exercises:
Chiropractors understand the importance of strengthening and stabilizing the body to prevent future injuries. They may provide you with targeted exercises and stretches to improve muscle tone, enhance posture, and support your overall chiropractic treatment.
Now, you might wonder, "Can chiropractic care really benefit me?" The answer is a resounding yes! Numerous studies have shown that chiropractic treatments can offer a wide range of benefits, including:
- Improved range of motion: By addressing misalignments and restrictions, chiropractic adjustments help increase your flexibility and restore your ability to move freely.
- Decreased pain and discomfort: Chiropractic care has been proven to effectively reduce pain, whether it's chronic or related to an acute injury.
- Enhanced physical function: By optimizing spinal alignment and joint mobility, chiropractic care can help you perform better and achieve your fitness goals.
- Alleviation of various conditions: Chiropractic care has shown promising results in relieving symptoms associated with migraines, headaches, arthritis, digestive problems, and more.

Everyone in the office is wonderful. The first time I walked in, I felt immediate love. Terry joyful greeted, even now I feel like I've known her for years. I also feel like I have known Dr. Chris for so long.
He is so easybto talk to and he is always looking for ways to make me feel better. Having Rheumatoid Arthritis for over 10 years, I have never had a Dr. like Dr. Chris that I can full trust to tell him exactly what is going on with my body.
I know that he will help me heal and not try to just put me on medication. He has given me so much hope. My son also loves Dr. Chris and Terry. This office has become family and my son and I both look forward to being with them for a long time.
Even if it comes to the point that we come for a adjustment twice a month. Either way, I am so happy to join this Chiropractic family

What to Expect During Your First Visit
1. Comprehensive Consultation
You will have a consultation with Dr. Chris to discuss your health-related problems, concerns, as well as potential treatment options. Your first visit is designed for your doctor to learn more about you, your condition and your expectations to determine whether chiropractic care will you meet your goals.
2. Examination
After your consultation, Dr. Chris will perform a complete chiropractic examination testing your reflexes, your ability to turn and bend as well as other standard neurologic, orthopedic, postural, and physical examinations. Nothing will be done in our office without your consent.
3. X-Ray Studies
Your specific condition may require us to take x-rays to get a full evaluation of a patient. X-rays help us rule out more serious conditions or assist us in developing the most effective treatment plan for you. Most people are amazed once they are x-rayed and can often immediately identify their misalignments and degeneration themselves.
4. Report of Findings
Once all the information and examinations have been performed, the doctor will give you a report of findings to answer the three most popular questions:
Can you help me?
What do you recommend that I do to get better?
How much is it going to cost?
After discussing with you your history and your goals, examining your spine and reviewing any x-rays or tests, the doctor will discuss recommendations with you. If you have a condition that requires care with other providers, the doctor will tell you. If the doctor believes we can help you, we will recommend treatment and a wellness program.
